SORRY!! (also, my 5th grade feild trip #2)

hey, I don't know if anybody still checks this out but I think I am going to start back up with this. Today, my class went on a field trip to the UCF student center in Sanford,FL. It was so cool!The ladies there took us to 3 exhibits. I saw the native American room, Grandma's attic, and the Schoolroom. First,my group traveled to Grandma's attic. In grandma's attic we learned that most kids in colonial times would be woken up around 3:00 in the morning to do their chores before school.the kid's chores involved making butter,grinding coffee beans,washing clothes,beating the rugs out,and making breakfast.The kids would also iron. I also learned what kind of toys the kids in colonial times would make. The kids had tops,ball in cups,Jacob's ladder, and a couple others I don't know the names to. Then, we went to the schoolroom. In the schoolroom we learned the rules the kids in colonial times had to follow while in school. Can you believe that the kids had to stand up every time they were allowed to talk? CRAZY! In the schoolroom we also saw the books and writing tools the kids in colonial times used. did you know that they would beat you if you wrote with your left hand? (oops!)Finally, we visited the Native American room. In the Native American room we learned about the plants and animals the natives used to survive. When we got to the room we were broken up into "tribes" and i was the chief.The lady there made the chiefs look for food,shelter, and clothing for their tribes. When we found everything, we talked about how the Natives lived and survived. What an exciting expirience for both me and my class! Hopefully I will blog soon! -Abby Berghane

summer ends and school starts

hi guys,
sorry i couldn't get back sooner, ( i was really busy and i forgot about my blog.)but summer came to an end so i'm going to tell you all that happend this summer. first,we went on a long vacation to seattle, anacortes,sanfansico and mountin veiw. wile we were taking this trip we ran along some friends and family who took us to some amazing places like the fish market in seattle, pier39 in sanfransico,and the top of the space needle!when we came back we went to grandma camp at hammock beach. (the hotels make you feel like your at your own house just on the beach!) from then on it was pretty low key for the rest of the summer. until we started school... did you know we had to wear uniforms? we also have a proram called stars and we do a star raffle for special prizes. i'm in third gradeso i have 2 teachers insted of one and my teachers are Mrs Keeling(homeroom) and Mrs Whalen ( block 2) they are so nice! plus seince i am back at school means a new list of books! here are a few of my favorites. ( NOT in order!)

1. strawberry hill- this book is about a little girl who moves to a street called stawberry hill and meets two friends but one is mean to the other and she is not sure if she needs to be friends with that girl.
2. the mystrious benidict socity- this book is about a group of kids on a secret spy misson and run into trouble on the way.
3.drizzle- this book is about a girl who owns a farm that rains only on monday at one o'clock but one day it stops raining and her brother gets sick so it's up to her to save the day.

the most addicting game and other things

hi! finally back on scedule and have some interesting things to talk about. one of the thoughts i had on my mind was about the wii. do any of you guys have children that have a wii? will nicholas and i have one and last thursday our wii froze up. ( no need to worry, it's not broken it's fine really you just can't trun your wii off for a while andthat's nothing to worry about ether.) the next day we played two other games and the wii didn't freeze up. but last saturday nick put the same game the wii froze up on.( because it was his favorite ) and it froze up! so now nick and i play this game called cook or be cooked. we love it!we played yeserday and just a few minutes ago. we even played it last night while are parents were at khol's! another subject on my mind is about all the books i'm reading this summer. my favorite so far is a crooked kind of perfect ( even know this is my forth time reading it i still love it!) it's about a girl who really wants a piano and to play at carnguie hall but her dad gets her a perfecatone 360 and she realises that she loves what she has more than what she wants. another really good book is starwberry hill by mary ann hoberman. this book is about a girl who moves to a house on a street called strawberry hill and has two best friends. ( i don't want to spill the beans so that's it.) i've read most of the books i got from the library (remeber- all 21!). my favrite from my school libary is the beloved dearly. it's about a boy who sets up a funurel busness with his friends and the more they get into their busness they boy becomes meaners so all the people quit! then he gets sad and tries to get more people but the other friends tell them not to go work with him. there is a mean cat lady too! it's a good book/ i also really liked holes. my mom read it too and loved it also. thats all for today ! see you soon and remember, keep looking for more posts!

what i want to be

i have figured out what i want i want to be when i grow-up. i want to be a teacher a librarin and a cupcake shop owner.but i also came up with an amazing idea ( with a little from mrs. west) to make a libary that has half of the space you can read books and the other half of the libray you can eat books made of choclotte! plus, the choclotty deserts come with wipes and lots of napkins! i would love to see montana- i think they have really pretty wildlife. Maybe i will posibly live there and attened a school there and teach 2nd or 3rd grade.i would also like to own a cupcake/cake shop and have kids 10 and under frost their own cupcake for $2 each from noon to close. every saturday and sunday. plus i would also be a libraian and have a reading time with polly the parrot at three thirty everyday and seven thirty on weekends. thank for listing to what i want to be! and remember, keep looking for more posts! bye for awile

my dream comes true

sorry i couldn't blog sooner. Just a crazy summer a head of me. My great great aunt had a funrel on Monday, dance recital on saturday, carolyn on wed. and Fri.But the thing I want to write about is that my DREAM came true! The day after school got out the media specilist Ms. west invited me to the media center. She told me I could pick out some books for summer reading. i picked out a few at first because i was shy. But once Ms. West pulled out some good books for me to see if I was intrested in them I picked out a lot more! When we went to check out ms. West printed a paper of all the books I checked out. I counted and found 21 books on the list! Isn't that amazing! I wish I could take the whole libary with me but it wouldn't fit in the house. well, at least i have the public libary. I've alredy read five books. So far my favrite has been The World Acording To Humphry. It's about a class hamster who has to leave a nice teacher and go to a mean teacher. I think it's a little scary but at the same time sad and happy. I started Hariet the spy and it is pretty good so far. My mom and I are reading the Mysterious Benedic Socity together. It is a little confusing but really good book. Remember to keep looking for more posts!

math super star's team!

Today I made the math superstar's team! It's me and 4 other people Aleksej,Mason.B,Mason.F,Jazlyn and me.our alternente is Lauren. So tomorrow the team and I go down to the lake mary elmentry lunchroom at 8:45 and we take this test( I
know this because I was in the compitishion last year.) I'm sooooooooooooo excited!But on the other side of my brain i'm kind of scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard..... any idea of relaxation exersises? you know what? i'm soooooooo tired!well that's all today yawn..... remember! keep looking for more posts!

help!

hi guys, i need your help. i can't decide what summer activity i'm going to do.... i do have a few ideas.

i already had in my mind horseback riding( but mom said there's no place around here.) , cheerleading, and dance camp.( my dance studio) i also have what i don't want to do this summer.....
i tried swim team last year and found out that's not my thing. it was ok...just not my cup of tea. i also don't want to do softball. i don't like baseball or softball... the preshure! so, do any of you guys have an idea or two? and remember keep looking for more posts!
